Freestanding Pole Setup

The Parts

Top pole, bottom pole, main power supply, PoleFX Player, player power supply, ethernet extension, X-Stage Lite with 45mm bearing

Step 0. Prepare the X-Stage Lite

The center hole in the bottom of the X-Stage lite needs to be enlarged to around 18mm diameter to fit the power and data cable through.

Step 1. Prepare the pole

Lay the pole halves down on the floor and confirm cables are undamaged an able to spin freely.

Step 2. Connect the top and bottom halves

Gently pull the cable out of the top pole and plug it into the connector mounted inside the bottom pole. The connector is keyed and only connects in one direction.

Step 3. Insert the bottom pole into the top

Carefully guide the cable inside the top pole, press the sections together. Align the outer holes with the inner holes.

Insert the two bolts to lock the sections together.

Step 4. Thread the pole cable through the X-Stage

Step 5. Insert pole and bearing into X-Stage

This can either be done with the X-Stage on it’s side, or vertically if you are able to elevate the stage as you’re pulling the cable through. Tighten the X-Stage bearing setscrews to make sure it is fastened to the stage and the pole is fastened to the bearing.

Step 6. Stand stage up and unfold the legs

Be mindful of the connectors, do not slide the stage around once the cables are compressed underneath it.

Step 7. Plug it in

There are two connectors attached to the pole cable, one for power and one for data. Connect the 2-pin connector to the pole power supply, and connect the Ethernet cable to the PoleFX Player.

A longer Ethernet cable with a coupler are included if you would like to keep the player further away.

Connect the PoleFX Player to power with it’s included power supply.

When the pole gets power, it will flash purple at the top and bottom within a few seconds of booting.

The animation will not begin until the player boots, which takes around a minute.

Step 8. Install the X-Stage platforms

Step 9. Access control app

Once the player boots, it creates a wifi network called ‘pfx1’ with password ‘polefx123

Connect a mobile device or computer to this wifi network. Note: If you are using a phone, you may need to disable mobile data or turn on airplane mode.

Open Chrome and navigate to 10.10.10.10:8080 to access the control page.

A device can be connected via Ethernet through an Ethernet switch, the control page can instead be accessed at 192.168.5.6:8080. The Ethernet interface does not assign IP addresses, so you will need to set a static IP in the 192.168.5.x range.
